Qualified Primary, French & Spanish Tutor
Madeleine, also known as Maddie, is a qualified secondary languages teacher with four years of tutoring experience. She supports Primary English and Maths, French and Spanish, alongside SATs and 11+ preparation.
A good educator does not just understand the subject. They understand how to teach that subject effectively to the particular pupil in front of them.
Madeleine is fascinated by the science of learning and how knowledge can be transferred effectively between different subjects, ages and learning needs.
Madeleine's work spans Primary core subjects and secondary languages. Her tuition can focus on classroom learning, intervention, exam preparation or entrance assessments.
Madeleine's tutoring experience began before her teaching career and has continued alongside her work in schools.

Worked across Primary and Secondary schools in West Yorkshire, including mainstream and alternative provision.
Her experience across different educational settings led her to train as a teacher in her degree subjects, French and Spanish.
Madeleine now teaches languages in a secondary school while continuing to tutor Primary pupils, SATs, 11+, GCSE French and GCSE Spanish.
Madeleine was trained to deliver National Tutoring Programme English and Maths intervention across schools and alternative provision in West Yorkshire.
She worked with pupils one-to-one and in small groups, including Primary pupils working around expected standards and Secondary pupils requiring targeted intervention.

KS3–GCSEExperience adapting teaching to different abilities and learning needs.
Adapted supportOne-to-one and small-group intervention outside mainstream settings.
InterventionConversational language teaching, including work with professional footballers and their families learning English.
Language learning“Every person works and learns differently, so effective teaching starts with understanding the pupil rather than forcing the pupil into one teaching method.”
Madeleine takes time to understand each student's individual needs, goals and abilities so that her instruction can be tailored and consistent.
Her experience across languages, Primary intervention, entrance examinations and different educational settings has strengthened her belief that strong subject knowledge must be paired with an understanding of how the individual pupil learns.
Whether the goal is passing the 11+, preparing for SATs, improving Primary English or Maths, succeeding in GCSE French or Spanish, or simply developing confidence, the teaching approach is shaped around that learner.
