Primary, KS3, GCSE & A-Level Maths Tutor
Siôn is an experienced Maths tutor with more than 11 years of teaching experience and approximately 3,400 hours of one-to-one tuition. He has extensive experience supporting GCSE Maths students through Welsh medium and works with learners from Primary through to A-Level. His lessons are patient, structured and adapted to each student, with a strong focus on genuine understanding, confidence and lasting progress.
Siôn has tutored for more than 11 years and has delivered approximately 3,400 hours of one-to-one tuition to students with a wide range of abilities and confidence levels.
His approach centres on making difficult mathematical ideas accessible. Rather than asking students simply to memorise a method, Siôn breaks problems into manageable stages and helps learners understand why each step works.
Lessons are adapted to the individual student. Siôn changes the pace, level of questioning and amount of practice depending on the learner's current understanding, confidence and areas of difficulty.
He is patient, approachable and focused on helping students become increasingly independent so that they can tackle questions with greater confidence both in lessons and on their own.
Lessons can be used to strengthen foundations, work through difficult topics, prepare for assessments, improve problem solving or build greater confidence with Mathematics.
Delivered across more than 11 years to students with different abilities, learning needs and levels of confidence.
Siôn has worked with students across a broad range of ability levels, from learners who lack confidence in the basics to students aiming to strengthen performance in more demanding Maths courses.
Over those years, he has frequently helped students reach their target grades and, in many cases, progress beyond them. Many of the students he has supported have improved by at least one grade.
His extensive online tutoring experience also means he is comfortable using technology to explain concepts, demonstrate methods and make lessons interactive and personalised rather than simply talking through a worksheet.
Siôn uses targeted questioning and carefully selected practice to understand exactly where a student is struggling before deciding what needs to happen next.
Siôn's aim is for students to leave lessons understanding the Mathematics more deeply, not simply remembering a sequence of steps until the next test.
